Pastor Joe

Pastor Joe Hackett joined our church on March 5, 2023. He brings congregational and pastoral
experience from churches in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois. He is a second career pastor after a long
career in firefighting and EMS. He studied at seminaries in Dubuque, Iowa, and has a degree in History
from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Pastor Joe is married to Chris, who works remotely as a
Senior Laboratory IT analyst for McLaren Healthcare in eastern Michigan and is currently working on her
Doctorate in Ethical Leadership. They have three grown children: Matt Hackett, a Firefighter/
Paramedic, lives in Memphis, Tennessee. Matt’s significant other, Ellie, lives in Fairfax, Virginia, and
works as a case manager for people with ability challenges. Nick Schutte is a sterile welding Field
Supervisor and lives in Johnsburg, Illinois, with his fiancé, Amanda, who works as a Data Analyst for
Walgreens. Matthew Schutte is a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor for a health care system in Southeast
Wisconsin. He lives in Racine, Wisconsin, with his wife, Lauren, who teaches Kindergarten.
Outside of church, Pastor Joe is involved with the Boy Scouts of America as a District and Council leader
and is a graduated Wing Commander with the Civil Air Patrol – teaching search and rescue and
leadership and management courses. Chris and Joe are both active in Lions Clubs International.
